MicroTriggers – Little Things Big Impact®
Does this scenario sound familiar? During a meeting, you offer an idea that is ignored. The conversation continues. Two minutes later, one of your peers poses the same idea. Everyone says, “Great idea!” No one notices that it was indeed YOUR idea, not his. If this kind of thing happens to you once in a while, then it’s no big deal. But if it is a pattern, the impact is harmful.
Ivy Planning Group began capturing data in the ‘90s to measure the presence and impact of the subtle behaviors that we call MicroTriggers. The most common behaviors are described in the book, 58 Little Things That have a Big Impact: What’s Your MicroTrigger®? A subtle message (spoken or unspoken) that is very offensive to one person may be insignificant to another. MicroTriggers are the messages that matter most to an individual, driving a specific action.
This interactive session, which has been enjoyed by Fortune 500, government and nonprofit organizations, will increase awareness of subtle behaviors in the workplace and marketplace.
Participants will explore the impact of micro-messages on their interpersonal relationships, their individual and a company’s productivity. Participants will identify their personal MicroTriggers, the factors that influence their intensity, and the skills to drive individual and group performance.
